The event brought together some 100 delegates from across northern Spain to share the lessons learnt in Smart City projects. Other delegates came from EU-GUGLE partner cities and from the EU Commission including Orsola Irene Mautone from DG Energy who set out the Smart Cities agenda.
Representing both Valladolid and R2CITIES was Cecilia Sanz from Cartif. Alongside projects REMOURBAN and SMARTEN CITY, she presented the concepts, challenges and impacts of FP7 and H2020 Smart City projects with particular emphasis on how their findings may be replicated and adapted to Spanish realities. She drew on the R2CITIES experience in Valladolid and highlighted the large-scale nature of the project’s demonstration component and the expected impacts for the future.
